In the town of Kappeln, 18 km away, you can find the only still functioning herring fences in Europe, dating back to the 15th century, in addition to the wedding mill "Amanda", built in 1888, which operated a historic sawmill. It is also possible to take a trip to Süderbrarup on a historic steam train or book an excursion on a real paddle steamer.
